How a Solar System Works
How does a solar panel take something as ordinary as sunshine and turn it into something that can power our 21st-century lives?
It’s a relatively simple process and setup, and we’re here to explain it.
Is going solar a good idea? The answer to this question can vary for each situation. Being a solar installation company, it is our mission to help you save money with solar. However, we realize there are pros and cons to going solar and it’s not an investment everyone should make.

Net Metering & Aggregate Metering
Net metering technically is not “selling” your solar-generated electricity to the utility company. Instead of money, you’re compensated with electricity credits which you can then use to supplement your electricity bill.
It’s absolutely true that solar energy can be a great financial investment. But it isn’t because of the money you make, it’s because of the money you save.
Put simply, meter aggregation is when one solar system is able to provide electricity to virtually offset multiple meters. Also known as virtual net metering, it makes it easier and more affordable for solar owners with multiple electricity meters to offset a greater percentage of their energy usage with solar.

Do You Get Enough Sunlight?
So just how much sunlight is needed for solar power, and is your property suitable for solar panels?
When you’re evaluating the suitability of your property for solar panels, exposure to natural daylight is a major factor. The more direct sunlight your panels receive, the more free electricity they’ll produce.
Two factors have an impact: your local climate and expected weather patterns, and shading.
