On a farm, there are a lot of places you can spend your money, but few of those investments will set up your bottom line with long-term savings like solar will. That’s why the owner of Deerfield Farm in Lewes, DE installed a ground-mounted solar panel system at his poultry farm.Â
The system has 184 Axitec solar panels with SMA inverters. The system will produce 93,900 kWh annually, offsetting 100% of electric usage at the farm.
Ground-Mount Solar in Lewes and Sussex County
Sussex County poultry farms sit in one of the best solar markets in the region: flat open land, strong sun, and heavy ventilation loads that run all day. This Lewes system’s 184 ground-mounted panels produce 93,900 kWh a year, covering 100% of the farm’s electric use. It is one of several agricultural solar projects we have built across Delaware, including the 832-panel Parry Poultry Farm system.
